Sacha's Version

When Sacha took a part time holiday job at Crate&Barrel, she figured she would make a few extra bucks and maybe furnish her apartment along the way... she never imagined that she'd find her other half!  Then along came Paul.

They became friends almost immediately and soon learned that they lived right around the corner from one another in Charlestown.  They would often take the T home together.  After awhile their conversations would linger and they would find themselves shivering outside in the cold, not wanting their conversations to end as their paths parted at the end of the night.

At the time, Sacha had just started seeing another guy, whom she decided to bring with her to the Crate&Barrel Christmas party to meet all her friends (okay it was a test).  As the night wore on, Sacha became increasingly disenchanted with her date, a.k.a "the wallflower", who didn't want to dance and whose conversation was less than beguiling.  Little did she know that there was a conspiracy afoot!  Paul's date (and longtime firend Anne Marie) and Sacha and Paul's friend Bruce had devised a plan to distract "the wallflower" while Sacha and Paul cut it up on the dance floor.  Needless to say the evening became much more interesting.

The next week Sacha broke it off with "the wallflower" as she recognized her heart softening for her friend Paul.  That was December, 2004.

Five months (and many many more teeth chattering conversations outside the T entrance at Copley) later, Sacha was getting tired of juggling two jobs and even more tired of waiting for Paul to make a move.  So she decided that it wasn't meant to be and she turned in her notice at Crate.  She was looking forward to a week long vacation with her girlfriends in Mexico.  At 11pm on the night before she was to get on a plane and fly down to Cancun, her phone rang.  It was Paul.  He wanted to meet on the day Sacha returned.  What could this mean?  Sacha and her friends spend the next week speculating but she'd have to wait until the following Sunday, when Paul and Sacha met for brunch and Paul (finally) told her how he felt.  Phew.

After that Paul and Sacha were pretty much insperable... and still are.
